The Myers Park Presbyterian Church (Presbyterian Church U.S.A.) welcomes you. Located in Charlotte, N.C., More than 90 percent of their 4,000 members live in Myers Park and surrounding south Charlotte neighborhoods. This concentration gives the church the unique distinction of retaining the personal feel of a neighborhood congregation while possessing the ministry opportunities and resources that only a large church provides. As part of their mission to serve Christ there is a believe in an active outreach program to enrich the lives of all God's children. The members are active in dozens of ministries throughout the local area as well as internationally in Africa, Latin America and Europe.

Myers Park Methodist Episcopal Church, South, as it was originally named, was organized in 1925 and held its first service on October 25, 1925, in the chapel at Queens College, Burwell Hall. By the end of the decade, the church's 4,000 members and new programs, such as the alternative Church-in-the-Round service, had put a strain on existing facilities. In response, church leaders created and began implementing a strategic plan in 1994. In the subsequent Building on Our Beliefs capital campaign, the congregation raised $16.3 million, with 10 percent of contributions committed to outreach projects. In 2000, church members raised the $16.3 million needed to make these improvements. Three years later, construction was completed on 66,800 square feet of new space and renovations that nearly doubled the existing church complex.

Myers Park Baptist Church was born in 1943 by a visionary group of Baptist families, possessed with a dream to build a unique church that catered to families. Today the cornerstones of the ministry are a free pulpit, thoughtful education, an extensive local and national outreach ministry, and worship that is beautiful and draws upon the historic traditions of the church.

For 60 years Myers Park Baptist Church has built a reputation as a place where members are encouraged to ask questions, debate issues, and seek truth. Today the church is a vibrant ecumenical congregation of more than 1,800 members, comprised of people from over 20 different faith communities

Today, Myers Park is very much an in-town neighborhood; only a few minutes drive from the center city. And while it offers convenience and variety with its mix of distinctive retail establishments, office buildings, restaurants, and some of Charlotte's most notable landmarks, such as Queens University, Myers Park Country Club, Theatre Charlotte, and Wing Haven (a garden and bird sanctuary created in 1927), it still maintains its prestige as one of Charlotte's finest residential addresses.
